Matching Methods
Matching methods decide how disposal records consume available lots.
Available methods
| Method | Intent |
|---|---|
| FIFO | Match the oldest available lots first. |
| LIFO | Match the newest available lots first. |
| HiFO | Match the highest-cost lots first. |
| Maximize Gains | Match the lowest-cost lots first. |
Re-matching behavior
Changing the matching method re-runs disposal matching. Expect downstream summaries to update after the change.
Recommended review flow
Settings -> Matching Method -> Re-match -> Review Tax Lots -> Validate Reports
Before switching methods
- Confirm you understand the reporting implications for your use case.
- Re-check unmatched disposals after the change.
- Revisit generated reports if you already exported them under a different method.
