Scope and responsible entity

This notice applies to services offered under the Cognia brand. If an order form, subscription, or enterprise agreement identifies a specific contracting entity, that entity is responsible for the processing described in that agreement; otherwise references to Cognia mean the operator of the relevant website or service.

Different jurisdictions may provide additional rights. A product notice, enterprise agreement, or just-in-time explanation may supplement this page and will control for the specific processing it describes.

01

Information we may process

The information depends on how you interact with Cognia. We aim to collect data that is adequate and relevant to the stated purpose, without collecting more than reasonably needed.

  • Account and contact data such as name, email, organization, role, language, and preferences.
  • Portfolio and product data such as public wallet addresses, read-only exchange data, transactions, holdings, tax lots, reports, uploaded documents, prompts, and workspace settings.
  • Technical and usage data such as device, browser, IP address, logs, diagnostic events, and cookie or similar identifiers where used.
  • Communications, support requests, research participation, sales interactions, and records needed for security, billing, or compliance.
02

Why we use information

We use information where necessary to provide the service, operate securely, meet legal obligations, or pursue legitimate business purposes that are compatible with users' rights.

  • Create and administer accounts, connect sources, process activity, and produce requested analysis or reports.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the website and product.
  • Communicate about service changes, support, billing, security, and requested commercial information.
  • Detect abuse, protect users and Cognia, comply with law, and establish or defend legal claims.
  • Use aggregated or de-identified information for analytics, research, and product development where it no longer reasonably identifies a person.
03

Disclosure and international processing

We may disclose information to service providers that support hosting, infrastructure, communications, analytics, security, support, and professional services, subject to appropriate contractual or other safeguards.

Information may also be disclosed with user direction, in a corporate transaction, to protect rights or safety, or where required by law. Because users and providers may operate in different locations, data may be processed outside the place where it was collected, subject to applicable transfer requirements.

Cognia does not ask users to provide private keys. Do not upload credentials or secrets that are not required for a documented product workflow.

04

Retention and security

We retain personal data for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, including to provide the service, maintain required records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, security, or audit obligations. Retention periods vary by data type and customer instructions.

Cognia applies technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized or accidental access, processing, loss, alteration, or disclosure. No system is completely secure, and users remain responsible for account, device, and integration credential security.

05

Choices, access, correction, and contact

Depending on applicable law, you may request access to or correction of personal data, ask about processing, withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, object to certain uses, or request deletion or restriction. Some requests may be limited by legal duties, security, recordkeeping needs, or the rights of others.

Send privacy requests to [email protected] with the subject 'Privacy request'. We may verify identity and request scope before responding. You may also contact the relevant privacy regulator where local law provides that right.

06

Children and updates

Cognia is not directed to children, and the service should not be used by anyone who cannot lawfully enter the applicable agreement. We do not knowingly seek personal data from children.

We may update this notice as the service, providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be indicated through the website, product, or another reasonable channel, and the effective date above will be revised.
